Navnath

From Orphan to Independent Cook.

ree

At just 12 years old, Navnath was admitted to Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Divyang Mulanche Balgruha, Mankhurd under a CWC court order. Diagnosed with mild intellectual disability, he had no family to support him—but he had determination and a fighting spirit.

Through special education, therapy, and vocational training, Navnath found his passion in cooking. He learned to prepare meals in the home’s kitchen, ensuring that every child was fed—even during the COVID-19 crisis. Seeing his dedication, the home arranged for certification at Pratham Institute, Aurangabad (now Sambhaji Nagar).

In 2022, he secured a job as a cook in a resort in Guhagar. After a year of hard work and successful follow-ups, he was granted permanent release by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Today, Navnath stands on his own feet—earning, thriving, and proving that disabilities don’t define destinies.
