The Additional Children’s Home in Mankhurd is a place of safety and care, for girls of age 6 to 12 years as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection)Act, 2015 & JJ Rules Maharashtra 2018.
This home provides protection, education, and nurturing care to those orphaned, separated from their families, or rescued from vulnerable situations. Children are admitted to the home by the Police, NGOs, Social Worker and Individuals by the order of the Child Welfare Committee to ensure that they receive proper rehabilitation and repatriation if needed.
More than just a temporary shelter, this home is a space of long-term healing and rehabilitation. It serves as a bridge between crisis and care—offering young girls a structured, supportive environment where they can begin to recover and build a stable foundation for the future. The process of tracing families or enabling independent reintegration is long and complex, but the team at the Additional Children’s Home continues its efforts with deep dedication and care.
